Elliot Entis  

Elliot Entis  Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Entis has 20 years of experience in the wholesale seafood industry in Boston, and spent ten years heading a research firm in Washington, D.C. Mr. Entis co-invented the technology underlying Aqua Bounty’s Shrimp IMS and has been running the company since its inception. He is on the national Board of BIO, the national association of biotechnology companies, and chairs BIO’s Animal Agriculture Board. Mr. Entis is a 1968 graduate of Harvard College and received his M.A. degree in political science from UC Berkeley.




   

Tom Royal  Chief Operating Officer

Mr. Royal has been working with Aqua Bounty as a commercial and operations consultant for over a year and he has recently joined full-time as COO to lead the Company’s operations and marketing activities. Mr. Royal is trained in aquaculture economics and has previous executive level experience at Contigroup, ContiSea and most recently at Fjord Seafood ASA, one of the world’s largest aquaculture groups, where he was Executive VP for the Americas. Mr. Royal has extensive distribution expertise as well as detailed knowledge of the world’s major aquaculture companies and has served on the Boards of Directors of a number of national and international aquaculture organizations.




Dr. Michael D. Erisman  

Dr. Michael D. Erisman  Vice President of Regulatory Affairs

Dr. Erisman’s primary responsibility at ABT is to manage the regulatory strategy and approval process. Prior to joining Aqua Bounty, Dr. Erisman spent eighteen years in research in the pharmaceutical-biotechnology industry, focusing on technology evaluation and licensing, preclinical-clinical program planning and the submission and defense of regulatory filings for US drug approvals.




Joseph McGonigle  

Joseph McGonigle  Vice President of External Affairs

Mr. McGonigle is academically trained in agricultural economics and is the former executive director of the Maine Aquaculture Association. Mr. McGonigle continues to serve on the U.S. delegation to the North Atlantic Salmon Conservation Organization. He also served in Maine State Government as chief of staff to two Presidents of the Maine Senate, as legislative director to the majority caucus and as executive director of the Commission on Maine’s Future.

Mr. McGonigle will spearhead AQUA Bounty Farms' industry education program to help salmon farmers and others better understand fish-to-fish transgene technology. He will also focus on clear communication that allows farmers and consumers to make their own judgments about the risks and the benefits of the emerging "Blue Revolution" in food production.




Dr. Kurt Klimpel  

Dr. Kurt Klimpel  Chief Operating Officer and Chief Technical Officer of Aqua Bounty Pacific

A molecular biologist, Dr. Klimpel oversees the Company’s shrimp research laboratory at Aqua Bounty Pacific in San Diego. Dr. Klimpel joined Aqua Bounty from Super Shrimp Group, where he was VP of Research. Prior to that, he was a scientist at the NIH where he specialized in developing defense systems against bacterial and viral disease. Dr. Klimpel won many honors while at NIH and is a world-leader in shrimp research.




Dr. Garth Fletcher  

Dr. Garth Fletcher  Co-Founder Chief Scientific Officer of Aqua Bounty Canada

Dr. Fletcher has conducted basic research on genetic hybrid fish and fish antifreeze proteins for more than twenty years and is the co-inventor of the Company’s AquAdvantage technology. Dr. Fletcher serves on the board of BioteCanada, Canada’s national association of biotechnology companies.




Henry Clifford  

Henry Clifford  Vice-President, Marketing & Sales


Henry Clifford is responsible for the commercial deployment of the product line developed within the Company's Aquatic Animal Health & Productivity Program. Henry Clifford is an internationally recognized authority on shrimp farming with a career spanning more than 25 years in the industry. He developed and directed some of the western hemisphere's largest shrimp aquaculture ventures, providing technical services in all aspects of shrimp farming to more than 250 clients in 20 countries. His technical expertise in pond management, disease management, domestication and genetic improvement have advanced modern shrimp farming techniques.
